We're proud to once again be the official charity partner of the Sunderland 10K as it returns to Roker Seafront in 2026! Join us as part of #TeamCCN and help Children's Cancer North continue to make life better for children and young people with cancer, like Autumn and Gray, right here in the North East. Children's Cancer North is an independent charity with over 40 years of heritage in supporting individuals and families affected by childhood cancer across the North East and Cumbria.
Funding early phase trials and supporting research to make treatments less harsh but more effective. Children's Cancer North funds valuable work being carried out at the Wolfson Childhood Cancer Research Centre in Newcastle, where expert clinical and research teams come together to advance their understanding of how to treat childhood and adolescent cancers.
Families from across the North East and Cumbria travel to the Great North Children's Hospital in Newcastle for their cancer treatment. Support includes a Parent Pack containing vital non-medical information about life in hospital, and a £250 fund to help with unforeseen costs for newly diagnosed families. The charity also provides family stays to Center Parcs, supports social opportunities for teenage patients, and funds creative activities and play specialists on the wards.
Children's Cancer North hosts a variety of events and campaigns throughout the year including 'Paint The Toon Gold', the 101 Challenge and their flagship fundraising event, the Children's Cancer Run.
